Message for today . . .
Today I want to share a message that has been very dear to me over the years. We all have circumstances that shake us and test our resolve. It seems that the worst in life occurs often suddenly and painfully and if we let it, that situation will rock our world. Luke tells us in Acts 16:25-31 "About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.
When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Another Message for today . . .
Today I want to share a thought on a circumstance we all face at one time or another in our lives. Hopefully this word will help us handle life's situations that come up unexpectedly. All of us at one time or another need to know what to do, When our Comfort Zone Gets Squeezed. The gospel writer Luke says, (8:22-25 gives us a clue from Jesus. One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out, and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”

Live Your Best Life:
Most everyone has the desire to achieve and be recognized for something beyond their present circumstances. Succeeding in this venture brings contentment and establishes your legacy. A word to the wise, be careful of dream stealers and vision hobos who are self-serving haters in disguise. If you’ve encountered a negative influence in your life, never be afraid to ask God for direction. Be sure to listen, obey and if necessary shake the dust and regroup.
In the big scheme of things if you’re faithfully walking with Him, there is no dream that God will not honor.

Get to Know Us
Hello, I'm Andrew Smith and that beauty standing beside me is Dorothy. I'm told that her name means God's gift.
I believe it!
We've encountered the highs and lows of life along this journey and we firmly believe that we've only come this far by the grace and mercy of God. Many years ago we made a decision to honor God with our lives completely. We love Jesus and want to obediently express that love toward each other and those we encounter. Our hope is to model Jesus so others will want to know Him and surrender their lives to Him. We believe that the Bible is the rule and guide for faith and intentional living. Our primary task is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. That's how we make a difference, and it's the driving force behind everything we do.
Oh, Dorothy and I have been on this journey since 1976, three months after we got married! We're a blended family and have four sons, one daughter. At the time of this writing, we have going on thirty-three grand and great-grandchildren.
I'm a seminary grad and previously pastored mainline Baptist churches as well as founded and pastored a nondenominational church. I've been blessed to have gleaned nuggets of truth from some of our nation's greatest pastoral leaders. I trust that this website will reflect the depth of those truths I've been exposed to over the years. Our church home is Life.Church (Pastor Craig Groeschel) where we lead the UGOGOD Life Group at the Overland Park location.
We're living a blessed life and want to encourage you to develop and maintain a relationship with Christ that you might live your best life!
We often say,
God has been so good, we simply say UGOGOD.
